Like Hunter S. Thompson… Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich and malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 7.8% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you don’t show it the proper respect.
This is one of my favorite beers. I enjoyed it a little too much quite a bit at Gonzofest when they had it on the nitro pump. I can’t believe I’ve never really written it up.
Opaque brown and thick, with a head that looks like a chocolate milkshake. Some coffee, vanilla, and dried fruit in the aroma. Rich and roasty, but this is definitely a sipping beer.
